12 weeksLive online program
24 live hours12 instructor-led Zoom sessions
24 additional hoursHomework and online coursework

Is attendance required?

Yes. Attendance is required at the live sessions. If you miss a class, you must catch up using the recorded audio and complete the associated work. Contact us to arrange your makeup work.

Ask your funding agency whether it accepts recorded makeups and how those hours should be reported.

How do I complete the program?

Completion requires the live certifications and assigned online coursework. Modern Sales Training provides a certificate of completion.

An MST completion certificate does not by itself establish government approval or an industry-recognized credential.

How are the training hours counted?

The training plan includes 24 live hours plus 24 hours of homework and online curriculum: 48 planned hours in total. Live instruction and the additional coursework are listed separately for funding review.

Your agency determines which activities count toward its minimum hours and which costs it can fund.

What are the start and end dates?

Dates and session times depend on the cohort. Request the current 12-session calendar, including the start date, end date and time zone, before submitting your application.

What does Sales Bootcamp cost?

Published individual tuition is $3,150 for the full program, paid in three monthly installments of $1,050. Company group pricing is available. Request a written quote for your number of participants.

Confirm the agency’s approved amount and payment schedule before enrolling or paying.

What skills does the program develop?

Sales Bootcamp develops B2B prospecting, first-appointment conversations and value-building skills through live instruction, practice and online coursework. Include the course outline with your funding application so the agency can assess its connection to your job.

Need details for your application?

Tell us the agency, the program you’re interested in and your preferred start date. Include any questions or forms the agency has given you.

These details describe Sales Bootcamp. Other Modern Sales Training programs have their own hours, delivery formats and completion requirements.

Good questions. Clear answers.

Before you apply.

A funding route is a place to start. The agency’s approval is what makes a training plan eligible.

Will the government pay for my sales training?

It may be possible, but it is not automatic. Funding depends on the applicant, location, employer where applicable, specific course, provider requirements, and available budget. Some programs have funded sales skills; others exclude them.

What is the difference between individual and employer funding?

Individual assistance typically starts with a workforce counselor who reviews your circumstances and an approved training program. Employer grants usually support employee skills development and may reimburse the business after approved training. Employer contributions, wage requirements, or retention conditions may apply.

Could funding cover an Outliers membership?

Outliers needs a separate review from live Bootcamp. Some programs explicitly exclude memberships and subscriptions, including Massachusetts Express and Montana IWT. Paying for a year does not remove those exclusions. Where self-paced training is allowed, the agency may need a defined course with required modules, instructional hours, assessments and completion dates. No funding approval for an Outliers subscription has been verified.

Contact us about a specific course and ask the agency which instructional costs can qualify. The ratings above apply to live Sales Bootcamp, not Outliers.

Massachusetts course rules ↗ · Montana IWT rules ↗

What is the ETPL, and does it apply to me?

Each state’s WIOA system maintains a list of eligible training providers and programs. For individual tuition through an Individual Training Account, the provider and exact course generally need approval on the applicable list; your eligibility and funding are reviewed separately. State-to-state acceptance varies. Employer incumbent-worker and customized training can use a separate provider approval process. California’s ETP employer program is different from its ETPL.

Federal employer-training provider rules ↗

Is Modern Sales Training approved in my state?

Approval must be confirmed for the exact funding route and course. This guide does not claim that Modern Sales Training is listed on every state’s eligible provider list. Employer training contracts may follow different provider rules. Contact us and the agency before relying on funding.

Can I enroll first and get reimbursed later?

Do not assume that earlier spending will qualify. Ask the agency what approvals must be in place before you enroll, pay, or begin training, and retain its written confirmation.

What course details will the funding agency need?

See the Sales Bootcamp training details for hours, attendance, completion and tuition. Contact us for the exact cohort calendar, written quote and any additional documentation your agency requests. The agency must decide which hours and formats it will fund. A recording used to catch up does not automatically count as live attendance.

Employer programs may also require a minimum time with your employer. Ohio incumbent-worker programs generally use a six-month rule, with possible employer-cohort exceptions that the local office must confirm.

Can online training qualify?

Some programs allow live online instruction; others limit provider location, format, or approved course lists. Live Zoom classes, self-paced courses, and memberships can be treated differently. Describe the exact delivery format when you ask.

What if I’m self-employed or paid on commission?

Ask specifically. Some employer programs exclude owners, independent contractors, or commission-based positions. Those restrictions differ by program and should be checked before applying.

What should I include when I contact Modern Sales Training?

Tell us your state, the program you’re interested in, whether you’re applying for yourself or a team, and any agency or grant you have already identified. We can discuss the training and quote you need for that conversation.

These assessments concern the named employer route and live Sales Bootcamp. Individual tuition assistance has separate requirements. Sources and availability were reviewed October 19, 2026; confirm current rules and funding with the agency.

Alabama Possible — conditions to resolve

A plausible employer reimbursement route; MST needs advance vendor and course approval.

Route: Alabama Incumbent Worker Training Program

Alabama expressly lets an employer choose an outside trainer and pay training fees or tuition. Its application accommodates private instructors. That fits MST's business model, but it does not establish that general sales content or California-based Zoom delivery is approved.

Evidence: Published program rules; sales-course fit is an assessment, not an approval.

Conditions to resolve

  • An Alabama employer must sponsor job-specific upskilling for current employees.
  • Submit the curriculum, trainer credentials, costs and outcomes before the class; the published application requests 45 working days.
  • Confirm employee eligibility, employer contribution and acceptance of live Zoom from California.

Availability: Program page is active; remaining funds and the applicable award cycle were not confirmed.

Where to start

Send the 24-hour agenda and an Alabama client's employee profile to the IWTP contact for a written eligibility screen.

Alabama IWTP staff ↗
Lorilei Sanders — 334-353-1632; lorilei.sanders@commerce.alabama.gov

What to ask

Can an Alabama employer use IWTP for this 24-hour live Zoom sales course taught by a California private instructor, and which costs and employees qualify?

Provider approval

Pursue employer IWTP course/vendor approval first. This WIOA employer-contract route is separate from individual ETPL registration; supply the requested trainer and cost records.

Individual tuition assistance

Individual MST tuition is unverified. A career-center counselor must approve the participant and exact course/provider under the individual training route before enrollment.

State ETPL entry verified. California/online-provider registration rules and MST's listing were not fully audited.

Alaska Possible — conditions to resolve

Possible through an Alaska employer's Incumbent Worker Training award.

Route: Incumbent Worker Training

The employer may choose its trainer and develop the curriculum with that trainer. That can accommodate a focused sales course, but sales is not expressly approved. The FAQ limits travel outside Alaska to specialized training unavailable in-state; how California-led Zoom is classified remains unresolved.

Evidence: Published program rules; sales-course fit is an assessment, not an approval.

Conditions to resolve

  • Employer applies for retained employees with at least six months on payroll.
  • Show a specific skill gap and employment-retention benefit.
  • Obtain approval of MST, live delivery and all costs before enrollment.

Availability: Published IWT route; awards depend on available federal funds. No balance was verified.

Where to start

Email Alaska IWT with the Bootcamp syllabus, 12-week schedule, live-hour total, quote and an Alaska employer's retention case.

Alaska DETS — Incumbent Worker Training ↗
dol.iwt@alaska.gov

What to ask

Can Alaska employees attending MST's approximately 24 live Zoom hours from Alaska use IWT when the trainer is in California, and does the out-of-state restriction apply?

Provider approval

Supply employer-selected training objectives, price and completion evidence; ask DETS to confirm vendor approval. Do not confuse this employer contract with an individual ETPL application.

Individual tuition assistance

An individual WIOA or STEP award remains possible only after counselor/program approval; no MST program approval was verified.

Seek Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education status before applying. Submit each program separately to dol.etpl@alaska.gov. Out-of-state/reciprocity treatment needs written confirmation for MST.

Arizona Possible — conditions to resolve

Worth screening through Maricopa County employer IWT.

Route: Maricopa County Incumbent Worker Training

Maricopa permits essential-skills training when it demonstrably improves employee competitiveness. Sales Bootcamp could qualify on that basis, with transferable competencies and a promotion, wage or retention outcome. The county has not expressly approved MST, sales tuition or California-led Zoom.

Evidence: Published program rules; sales-course fit is an assessment, not an approval.

Conditions to resolve

  • Arizona employer and Arizona-resident employees; usually six months' employment, with a cohort exception.
  • Employer documents skills, completion certificates and worker outcomes.
  • Employer contributes 10%, 25% or 50% by size; contract precedes costs.

Availability: Local IWT policy is published; current Maricopa allocation/intake was not confirmed.

Where to start

Send Maricopa Business Services a proposed incumbent-sales cohort and ask for a curriculum/vendor screen. Phoenix city and Tucson use their own local administrators.

ARIZONA@WORK Maricopa County Business Services ↗

What to ask

Will your IWT program accept MST's live Zoom sales curriculum as transferable occupational/essential skills, and what vendor steps apply to a California provider?

Provider approval

Maricopa policy exempts IWT from ETPL. Obtain local training/vendor approval and confirm registration/payment requirements; prepare competency plan and named completion certificates.

Individual tuition assistance

Individual ITA tuition requires the specific provider/program and participant approvals. MST approval and its certificate's acceptability were not verified.

Apply via Arizona Job Connection; local/state program approval and initial/annual student performance reporting apply. California reciprocity and online-provider requirements were not fully audited.

Arkansas Possible — conditions to resolve

Worth screening with the employer's local board; no verified sales-specific approval.

Route: Local WIOA Incumbent Worker Training

Arkansas permits IWT contracts outside the individual ETPL process. Training must support retention, advancement or layoff prevention, making employer-backed sales upskilling more plausible than a consumer tuition reimbursement.

Evidence: Published program rules; sales-course fit is an assessment, not an approval.

Conditions to resolve

  • An employer must commit to retaining or advancing employees; this is not new-hire occupational training.
  • Workers normally need six months with the employer, with a majority-cohort exception.
  • Local sector priorities and a minimum employer share of 10%, 25% or 50% apply.
  • The board must approve MST, the sales curriculum and remote delivery before training.

Availability: State policy authorizes local IWT; local participation, funding balance and intake dates need confirmation.

Where to start

Ask the local Business Services Coordinator to screen one employer-backed MST cohort against that area's IWT policy.

Arkansas Business Services Coordinators ↗
Business Services Coordinators directory; service center 844-908-2178

What to ask

Does your area's IWT policy fund occupational sales upskilling through an out-of-state live online trainer, and what employment outcome must we document?

Provider approval

For IWT, negotiate approval through the employer's local board, not ETPL. State policy explicitly exempts IWT providers from ETPL requirements.

Individual tuition assistance

An individual cannot rely on the IWT contract. MST tuition remains possible only after the separate participant and exact ETPL course checks.

WIOA entry verified; current online/out-of-state ETPL registration details were not audited.

California Promising — approval needed

Sales training can fit ETP; employer approval comes first.

Route: Employment Training Panel (ETP)

ETP explicitly includes sales, negotiation, customer needs and product knowledge within Business Skills. Live instructor-led online classes are allowed, and Bootcamp’s approximately 24 live hours exceed the usual eight-hour minimum. This makes the course a credible candidate for an eligible employer’s training plan, subject to curriculum review. ETP pays a fixed hourly amount after training and retention requirements are met; it does not promise to cover the full tuition bill.

Evidence: Explicit sales-related curriculum and live-online delivery rules; no MST-specific approval verified.

Conditions to resolve

  • Have ETP check the employer’s actual EDD industry code and competitive need. FY2026–27 rules bar commission retail sales and limit car-dealership core funding to mechanics; selling technology does not automatically make a company an IT-services business.
  • Trainees generally must live in California, be paid during training, meet the contract’s wage threshold, and remain employed full time for the required retention period, usually 90 days.
  • Get the curriculum, live attendance tracking, trainer and start date approved in an employer or multiple-employer contract before training begins.
  • Resolve conflicting official industry guidance with ETP: the older eligibility FAQ excludes all non-priority industries, while the dated FY2026–27 priorities page describes priority status as affecting the rate and does not repeat that blanket exclusion.

Availability: The official ETP page says contract applications are open. An application is not a reserved award; confirm budget and contract timing with the analyst.

Where to start

Contact ETP’s Economic Development Unit with the employer’s industry code, employee count and wages, plus the Bootcamp syllabus and quote. Ask whether a direct employer application or an existing multiple-employer contractor is the practical route. If ETP confirms fit, the employer starts through New Company Sign Up on the application page.

ETP application page & first-time applicant help ↗
ETP Economic Development Unit · connect@etp.ca.gov · (916) 737-4181

What to ask

Can our employees take Modern Sales Training’s 12-week, approximately 24-live-hour Zoom Sales Bootcamp under an ETP contract? Please confirm our EDD industry code, treatment of base salary plus commission, the approved Business Skills modules, hourly reimbursement, retention rules, and whether we should use a multiple-employer contractor.

Provider approval

For ETP employer funding, supply a Business Skills syllabus, itemized quote, trainer qualifications and auditable attendance records for the employer’s approved contract. ETPL enrollment is a separate process and does not grant ETP approval. If MST wants to hold its own multiple-employer contract, ask ETP about the distinct contractor eligibility and reporting obligations first. Keep the additional 24 homework/online hours separate: the reimbursement illustration counts only 24 approved live hours; do not double it without approval of additional training methods and hours.

Individual tuition assistance

ETP is not an individual tuition application. For an individual WIOA training account, MST and the exact Bootcamp course need applicable ETPL approval, and the individual needs separate counselor authorization. MST’s listing has not been verified. California’s current rules allow employment or measurable skill gains as possible program outcomes, so a lack of a nationally recognized certificate is not by itself a complete answer.

For individual WIOA tuition, follow the February 23, 2026 policy WSD25-02. A California private provider generally needs BPPE Approval to Operate or a qualifying verified exemption unless another listed category applies. Register provider and course information in CalJOBS; the headquarters-area local board ordinarily reviews the provider, followed by EDD. Ask wsbetpl@edd.ca.gov to confirm the correct assignment for MST. Course hours, costs, occupational alignment, initial completion data, renewals and annual reporting are required. MST’s authorization and exemption status have not been established.

Colorado Partner route — arrange first

Seek a college-led Skill Advance review; generic sales Bootcamp is a weaker fit.

Route: Skill Advance Colorado — college-managed employer training

Skill Advance requires employer-specific training through a local college relationship. Its FY2025 overview expressly limited sales/marketing funding and required substantial customization, nonretail full-time workers and training within Colorado. These are historical restrictions to recheck for the announced fall-2026 intake.

Evidence: Official past sales-training example; current MST course approval remains unverified.

Conditions to resolve

  • Colorado employer and employees working/residing in Colorado.
  • College agrees the sales curriculum is sufficiently customized and eligible.
  • Confirm current sales limits, Zoom location treatment and instructor contracting before committing.

Availability: Current page says applications are anticipated in fall 2026; it does not establish that the intake has opened.

Where to start

Use the Skill Advance college-contact map or CCCS Workforce Development team to request a pre-screen for one named Colorado employer.

CCCS Workforce Development / local Skill Advance college representative ↗
CCCS Workforce Development Team; local college contacts on the Skill Advance program map.

What to ask

Under the new intake, can an employer-specific 24-hour live sales cohort be funded, and may the college use California-based MST while learners remain in Colorado?

Provider approval

First obtain a sponsoring college's curriculum and trainer review. Ask whether MST will be a subcontractor or employer-selected vendor. Skill Advance is separate from individual ETPL enrollment.

Individual tuition assistance

A separate workforce-center ITA would require approved program selection; MST's Colorado ETPL status was not verified.

State-linked ETPL portal verified; out-of-state/online provider registration requirements were not audited.

Connecticut Possible — conditions to resolve

Ask the employer’s regional board; sector and curriculum fit are unresolved.

Route: Local employer Incumbent Worker Training / Industry-Driven Skills Training Fund

Connecticut funds employer upskilling through its five workforce boards. Hartford’s current IWT offer targets healthcare and technology employees. Office-technology sales might be relevant, but selling technology alone does not establish an eligible technology employer or occupational course.

Evidence: Published program rules; sales-course fit is an assessment, not an approval.

Conditions to resolve

  • Employer must fit the regional award’s industry and worker priorities.
  • Board must accept sales curriculum, California trainer and live Zoom delivery.
  • Obtain a training agreement before paying or starting.

Availability: Regional funds were awarded in 2025; each board’s remaining allocation and intake are unconfirmed.

Where to start

Send employer NAICS, worker roles and MST syllabus to the appropriate regional board for a written eligibility screen.

Connecticut workforce development boards ↗
Capital Workforce Partners (Hartford): 860-522-1111; use the directory for other regions.

What to ask

Does your current employer-training award cover this 24-hour live sales course for our industry, using a California provider?

Provider approval

Employer should obtain board approval of MST, course, quote and delivery method. The ETPL restriction below is a separate individual-tuition issue.

Individual tuition assistance

Direct individual MST tuition is not established. Connecticut’s current ETPL application page excludes out-of-state entities except NY, MA and RI, while permitting qualifying Connecticut entities with out-of-state headquarters.

Current application page accepts out-of-state entities only from NY, MA and RI. A California-only provider appears outside this application pathway; ask CTDOL about any other authorized route before building an ETPL application.

Delaware Possible — conditions to resolve

Private online instruction is expressly allowed; a funded employer contract is the right starting point.

Route: Delaware IWT contract for services

Delaware's 2025 policy permits private training companies/instructors and online delivery for IWT. MST could fit that structure if the board accepts the sales curriculum's career-advancement value. Credential-bearing courses receive priority, and no MST approval was established.

Evidence: Published program rules; sales-course fit is an assessment, not an approval.

Conditions to resolve

  • A Delaware employer must show advancement or layoff-prevention need and commit to retention/promotion.
  • Employees generally need six months' tenure, with a cohort exception.
  • Employer contribution, procurement and board priorities apply.
  • Confirm MST vendor approval and secure the contract before training.

Availability: September 2025 policy describes IWT; funding allocation and current intake were not confirmed.

Where to start

Submit a preliminary employer proposal to DOL-DET/DWDB naming MST, sales roles, learning objectives and worker outcomes.

Delaware Workforce Development Board staff ↗
DWDB staff / Delaware Division of Employment and Training

What to ask

Can we use an IWT contract for services for MST's California-based live online sales course, and what evidence would overcome the preference for credential-bearing curricula?

Provider approval

Pursue the IWT contract/procurement route with the employer. The policy distinguishes that from an ITA requiring ETPL approval.

Individual tuition assistance

Individual tuition has an additional barrier: Delaware accepts out-of-state ETPL applications only when the provider/program is on its home-state ETPL and no Delaware provider offers the training.

For individual ETPL, California home-state listing and lack of equivalent Delaware provision are express gates. Online is expressly allowed for IWT; individual online-provider particulars need confirmation.

District of Columbia Poor fit for current Bootcamp

The verified employer program pays a wage subsidy; it is not a demonstrated way to buy MST tuition.

Route: DOES On-the-Job Training — wage subsidy, not verified MST tuition support

DOES OJT reimburses employers for wages while eligible DC residents learn a job. That does not establish payment of an outside sales bootcamp invoice. For direct tuition, DC's ETPL route has substantial licensing, program-approval and contracting requirements that MST has not been shown to meet.

Evidence: Published restriction or program limitation that affects current Bootcamp.

Conditions to resolve

  • OJT requires an approved employer, eligible DC resident and qualifying W-2 job.
  • An OJT agreement must be executed before the employment/training arrangement.
  • Outside MST tuition would require separate express authorization.
  • Individual ITA payment requires ETPL approval plus a Human Care Agreement.

Availability: OJT is described on the current page, with FY26 terms; current-cycle funding and any separate MST tuition route are unverified.

Where to start

Ask DOES whether a separate customized/IWT or tuition contract exists for this course; do not present OJT wage reimbursement as a tuition grant.

DOES Office of Talent and Client Services ↗
202-724-7000; Office of Talent and Client Services

What to ask

Is there an active employer training route that pays a California vendor's live Zoom sales-course invoice, separate from OJT wage reimbursement?

Provider approval

For individual tuition, request DCWIC ETPL review, resolve licensing and credential requirements, then obtain a DOES Human Care Agreement before reimbursable services.

Individual tuition assistance

Not verified and administratively demanding: MST would need appropriate educational licensure, DC program approval and an HCA; a completion certificate alone may not satisfy the credential review.

The 2022 policy covers virtual/hybrid licensure and out-of-state reciprocity: home-list good standing, aligned requirements and an HCA are required. Confirm current implementation with DCWIC.

Florida Possible — conditions to resolve

Sales has historical precedent, but the soft-skills exclusion is a material risk for MST.

Route: CareerSource Florida Incumbent Worker Training

An official evaluation records sales/marketing training in earlier IWT awards. However, retrieved FY2025–26 rules exclude soft skills and retail establishments. MST must demonstrate concrete occupational selling skills and obtain a current-year determination; motivational or general communication training could fail.

Evidence: Official past sales-training example; current MST course approval remains unverified.

Conditions to resolve

  • An eligible Florida employer sponsors qualifying employees; prior rules required full-time W-2 Florida workers and six months' tenure.
  • CareerSource must accept MST as a private training company and approve the exact curriculum.
  • Confirm FY2026–27 rules, including the prior $300 instructor-hour cost limit and 45-business-day lead time.
  • Do not enroll or start before the executed funding agreement.

Availability: The board announced FY2026–27 IWT funding; uncommitted funds were not verified. Detailed rules retrieved cover the prior fiscal year.

Where to start

Request a curriculum ruling from CareerSource Florida Grants before marketing the course as fundable.

CareerSource Florida training grants ↗
grants@careersourceflorida.com

What to ask

Under FY2026–27 rules, is MST's applied prospecting, discovery and closing curriculum eligible occupational training or excluded soft skills, and can its California instructor teach Florida employees live on Zoom?

Provider approval

Seek CareerSource's private-provider approval, including credentials/licensure review and course approval. Employer IWT does not itself place MST on the individual ETPL.

Individual tuition assistance

Individual MST tuition is not established by this employer grant. Local CareerSource approval of the participant and exact ETPL program remains necessary.

Palm Beach County's official local provider guidance requires both Florida ETPL application and a local process. Statewide California/Zoom eligibility has not been confirmed.

Georgia Possible — conditions to resolve

A credible employer route for a documented sales skill gap.

Route: WorkSource Georgia local Incumbent Worker Training

Georgia's linked IWT guide allows private professional trainers and employer-needed communication, management and other work skills; an industry credential is encouraged rather than mandatory. The guide supports MST's format as a vendor, but local policy controls and California Zoom delivery needs confirmation.

Evidence: Published program rules; sales-course fit is an assessment, not an approval.

Conditions to resolve

  • The guide describes employers operating at least 12 months with at least five full-time employees; verify current local rules.
  • Six-month employee tenure generally applies, with a cohort exception.
  • Show retention, advancement or competitiveness outcomes and meet the employer share.
  • Obtain the local contract before training; the guide requests 30 days' lead time.

Availability: Current state resources link the IWT guide, dated March 2021. Local intake and remaining funds were not verified.

Where to start

What to ask

Will your local IWT rules accept MST's 24-hour live online sales curriculum without an industry certification, using an experienced California private trainer?

Provider approval

Seek local IWT vendor/course approval with the employer. For separate individual tuition, apply through Georgia's ETPL process; do not treat an IWT contract as statewide listing.

Individual tuition assistance

No MST individual ETPL approval was established. A job seeker needs a separate local eligibility decision and approval of the exact training program.

Hawaii Partner route — arrange first

ETF is a plausible sales route only after provider/course approval or an approved partnership.

Route: Employment and Training Fund (ETF) Micro Program

ETF subsidizes approved courses for current private-sector employees. Its current February-2026–January-2028 provider list does not name MST. A historical state course matrix included sales courses, showing subject precedent, but it does not establish current eligibility for Bootcamp.

Evidence: Official past sales-training example; current MST course approval remains unverified.

Conditions to resolve

  • An approved ETF provider must deliver an ETF-approved course.
  • Training upgrades the employee's present job and does not replace routine employer training.
  • Employer submits the referral at least two weeks before class; pays its share and excess tuition.

Availability: Current ETF provider term is published through January 2028. Specific course availability, remaining funds and new-vendor intake need confirmation.

Where to start

Ask the Honolulu ETF office whether MST can join the current provider procurement or deliver through an existing approved provider.

What to ask

Can California-based MST obtain ETF approval for a 12-week live Zoom sales course, or must we subcontract through a currently approved Hawaii provider?

Provider approval

ETF has its own approved-provider/course process, separate from ETPL. Resolve this before directing customers to an ETF application.

Individual tuition assistance

ETF is an employer route. Individual WIOA tuition requires separate county provider/program and participant approvals; MST approval was not verified.

Do not promote the WDTF Employer Grant for MST Sales Bootcamp.

Route: Workforce Development Training Fund Employer Grant

The Employer Grant's current linked overview explicitly excludes sales and leadership training. An outside trainer, live Zoom format or completion certificate does not remove that subject exclusion. This finding applies to that grant, not every possible Idaho workforce service.

Evidence: Published restriction or program limitation that affects current Bootcamp.

Conditions to resolve

  • Sales curriculum fails this Employer Grant's published subject rule.
  • Only investigate another named funding route if the agency confirms that route's separate rules.
  • Do not relabel sales training to evade the exclusion.

Availability: Employer Grant page lists December 4, 2026 for January committee review, but Sales Bootcamp is excluded under the linked rules.

Where to start

Ask WDC's grant contact whether a distinct local WIOA employer-training route accepts sales, rather than preparing an Employer Grant application.

Idaho Workforce Development Council — Jan Whiting ↗
jan.whiting@wdc.idaho.gov; 208-488-7562

What to ask

The Employer Grant excludes sales training; is there a separate Idaho workforce route that can review a live B2B sales course for employed workers?

Provider approval

Do not invest in vendor registration for this excluded curriculum. For a different route, obtain written subject eligibility and provider requirements first.

Individual tuition assistance

The employer-grant exclusion is not an automatic ban on individual WIOA aid. A counselor must assess an approved occupational program; MST approval was not verified.

Idaho publishes provider/program and reciprocity resources. MST's out-of-state/online application gates were not audited.

Illinois Possible — conditions to resolve

Possible occupational training; generic sales soft skills may be rejected.

Route: Local Incumbent Worker Training; DuPage example

DuPage IWT requires job-specific occupational skills and expressly excludes soft skills. Prospecting workflows, pipeline systems and measurable sales competencies need agency review; relationship-building or motivational coaching alone is a weak fit.

Evidence: Published program rules; sales-course fit is an assessment, not an approval.

Conditions to resolve

  • Existing employees and documented retention/upskilling need.
  • Local board accepts the syllabus as occupational rather than general soft skills.
  • Employer match, trainer agreement and approval before training expenses.

Availability: Local IWT page is active; county funding balances and application acceptance are unknown.

Where to start

Have the employer send a course outline and itemized quote to its local IWT business representative.

workNet DuPage IWT team (DuPage County) ↗
Rschlager@worknetdupage.org; 630-955-2030. Other counties use their own workforce board.

What to ask

Which MST modules qualify as occupational sales training under your no-soft-skills rule, and may a California trainer deliver them live online?

Provider approval

Supply employer/board with learning outcomes, attendance and assessment plan, instructor qualifications and training agreement. Obtain local approval for remote out-of-state delivery.

Individual tuition assistance

Individual tuition needs participant approval and this specific course on Illinois ETPL; no MST approval is verified.

Policy effective August 11, 2026 directs distance/out-of-state providers to the State ETPL Coordinator through IWDS: CEO.OET.etplcoord@illinois.gov. This supersedes older instructions to apply to the local area expecting the most students.

Indiana Possible — conditions to resolve

Possible if at least 40 of the planned 48 hours are accepted.

Route: Employer Training Grant (ETG)

MST describes the reviewed Bootcamp plan as 24 live hours plus 24 homework/online hours. ETG requires 40 training hours; whether the additional work qualifies is unresolved. Occupation, training category and employer conditions still apply.

Evidence: Published 40-hour rule; the provider’s additional coursework makes the result conditional, not an established duration exclusion.

Conditions to resolve

  • The regional reviewer must accept at least 40 actual training hours, supported by the syllabus and completion records.
  • The employer and occupation must fit an eligible ETG sector.
  • Confirm the reimbursement category, wage conditions and six-month retention.

Availability: ETG guidance is posted; regional funds must be confirmed before training.

Where to start

Submit the live and non-live hour breakdown to the regional ETG reviewer before relying on the 40-hour threshold.

Indiana ETG regional contacts ↗
DWD Employer Training Grant team; regional contact map on the ETG page.

What to ask

Which of our 24 live Zoom hours and 24 homework/online hours count toward ETG’s 40-hour minimum, and which reimbursement category applies to this course?

Provider approval

Provide module-level hours and completion evidence. Ask whether the course fits specialized company training (up to $1,000 per worker) or a qualifying credential category; MST’s own certificate does not establish the higher category.

Individual tuition assistance

Individual INTraining/ETPL funding is a separate route. MST listing and participant eligibility remain unverified; the ETG hour review does not decide individual tuition eligibility.

Apply for provider and program approval through INTraining after reviewing current policy. INTraining listing alone is distinct from ETPL approval; the system separately checks WIOA qualification. California/online gates require DWD confirmation (INTraining@dwd.in.gov).

Iowa Partner route — arrange first

Work through an Iowa community college; employer industry is decisive.

Route: Iowa Jobs Training Program 260F

260F supports eligible employers through community-college-sponsored training. Retail, healthcare and professional-service businesses are excluded. A manufacturer’s sales staff may have a better starting point than a retail dealer; an eligible service business must serve customers outside Iowa.

Evidence: Published program rules; sales-course fit is an assessment, not an approval.

Conditions to resolve

  • Iowa employer must pass 260F industry screening.
  • Community college must sponsor the project and agree to use MST.
  • College must approve course, costs, remote delivery and funding before commitment.

Availability: Program accepts inquiries; college allocation and project funding are unconfirmed.

Where to start

Contact the 260F manager with the client’s NAICS and ask for the local college business-training lead.

Iowa 260F program contact ↗
Lauren Siebert, IWD 260 Program Manager: 515-608-0933.

What to ask

Can the sponsoring college contract with MST for live online sales instruction for this employer, and is the employer’s NAICS eligible?

Provider approval

Seek a college vendor or instructional subcontract arrangement; direct independent-course reimbursement is not established by the 260F page.

Individual tuition assistance

260F is an employer/college project, not an individual voucher. Separate WIOA tuition requires approved MST/course listing and participant authorization, neither verified.

State ETPL entry verified; detailed California/online provider licensing and application rules have not been audited. MST and this exact course are not verified approved. Request a provider-and-course determination, not merely a directory account.

Kansas Possible — conditions to resolve

KIR is a low-priority lead unless the employer is restructuring.

Route: Kansas Industrial Retraining (KIR)

Kansas Industrial Retraining funds workers facing displacement from obsolete skills during a business restructuring. Ordinary sales improvement is not that case. A move to materially different sales/service operations might justify review, but curriculum approval and employer eligibility are unresolved.

Evidence: Published program rules; sales-course fit is an assessment, not an approval.

Conditions to resolve

  • Employer documents qualifying restructuring and an employee displacement risk.
  • At least one retained position meets the county median-wage requirement.
  • Confirm current industry/export-revenue rules, match, remote-delivery policy and the $500 application fee before applying.

Availability: KIR page says applications are accepted year-round. The linked guideline file contains a future July-2027 date despite a 2025 label; request current written terms.

Where to start

Email the Commerce finance manager a short restructuring/retention case and Bootcamp outline before paying the fee or writing a full application.

Kansas Commerce — Brett Sayre, Business Development Finance Manager ↗
Brett.Sayre@ks.gov; 785-296-5418

What to ask

Does this employer's restructuring and sales-role displacement risk qualify for KIR, and may California-based MST deliver the required retraining live over Zoom?

Provider approval

Start with Commerce's project/trainer approval, not automatic ETPL enrollment. Supply a customized training plan and itemized costs only after employer fit is confirmed.

Individual tuition assistance

KIR is employer funding. An individual's KANSASWORKS tuition request needs participant and specific program approval; MST approval was not verified.

Official training search provides a WIOA approval filter. MST's out-of-state/online provider registration rules were not audited; ask the local workforce center for the provider coordinator.

Kentucky Promising — approval needed

Good fit for an eligible nonretail employer; consultant-led online training is expressly allowed.

Route: Bluegrass State Skills Corporation Grant-in-Aid

FY2026–27 BSSC rules permit private training consultants, online delivery and interpersonal or occupational skill upgrades. A 24-hour applied sales course could fit. The major gates are the employer's industry and trainee compensation, rather than MST being a college.

Evidence: Published program rules; sales-course fit is an assessment, not an approval.

Conditions to resolve

  • Eligible sectors include manufacturing, qualifying nonretail services/technology and headquarters; retail, wholesale, real estate and several others are excluded.
  • Trainees must be permanent full-time Kentucky residents. FY2026–27 minimum total hourly compensation is $16.68 in heritage counties or $25.01 elsewhere, subject to base-wage and company-paid-benefit rules.
  • The current limits are the lesser of 50% of approved costs, $75,000 or $2,000 per trainee.
  • Board approval must precede training; MST must not imply BSSC endorsement.

Availability: FY2026–27 guidelines publish scheduled rounds; after October 19 the next listed application deadline is December 15, 2026. Funding is competitive and uncommitted funds are unknown.

Where to start

Ask BSSC to screen a named client's industry, county, compensation and MST agenda before the next application deadline.

BSSC program contact ↗
Kristina Slattery — 502-564-7670; Kristina.Slattery@ky.gov

What to ask

Can this qualifying employer claim MST's California-delivered live online sales bootcamp as consultant skills-upgrade training, and which employee wage/benefit floor applies?

Provider approval

No BSSC college partnership or individual ETPL listing is stated for consultant training. Provide curriculum, invoices and attendance proof through the employer's approved project.

Individual tuition assistance

BSSC is an employer reimbursement, not an individual tuition entitlement. Individual MST WIOA eligibility and listing remain unverified.

Separate WIOA provider guidance exists. California/online ETPL requirements and MST listing were not audited.

Louisiana Partner route — arrange first

Approach an approved primary provider; direct SBET reimbursement is a poor match for MST's present vendor profile.

Route: IWTP Customized Training through an approved primary provider

Customized IWTP can include secondary training vendors, and historical awards included sales training. SBET has narrower eligible-provider categories that do not obviously include an independent California sales firm. A primary-provider partnership is the more defensible lead.

Evidence: Official past sales-training example; current MST course approval remains unverified.

Conditions to resolve

  • Louisiana Works must accept the employer, training plan and MST as a secondary vendor.
  • The primary provider administers the contract, reporting and invoices.
  • Confirm live Zoom, employer/employee eligibility and demand-occupation requirements before enrolling.
  • Do not rely on SBET unless the agency confirms MST fits a qualifying provider category.

Availability: Current IWTP pages describe applications and provider approval; the available grant balance and a specific employer award are unverified.

Where to start

Ask an IWTP regional advisor to introduce MST to an approved primary provider serving the prospective employer.

Louisiana Works IWTP program and regional contacts ↗
IWTP Unit; Louisiana Works main line 225-342-3111; regional-contact directory on program page

What to ask

Can an approved Louisiana primary provider include MST as a California secondary vendor for a 24-hour live Zoom sales course, and what employer and occupational gates apply?

Provider approval

First pursue approved-primary-provider subcontracting. Direct primary approval separately requires training outcomes, industry collaboration and standards evidence; ask how a California vendor is assigned to a regional advisor.

Individual tuition assistance

Customized IWTP and SBET do not establish individual MST tuition eligibility. A HiRE/career-center review of the exact ETPL course is separate.

Individual WIOA entry verified; interstate/online ETPL rules were not audited. IWTP provider approval is a different process.

Maine Promising — approval needed

Sales is an explicit fit category; employer membership and approval are needed.

Route: Maine Workforce Development Compact (foundation-supported)

Maine’s community-college Compact lists marketing and sales, and can cover specialized third-party training. The current match is up to $1,200 per frontline employee. This route is supported by the Harold Alfond Foundation and must not be advertised as purely government tuition.

Evidence: An explicit published rule supports a relevant sales topic, occupation or training feature; MST approval remains unverified.

Conditions to resolve

  • Employer joins the Compact and submits its training funding request.
  • Frontline trainee is a Maine resident, 18+, with high-school equivalent, employed at least part-time.
  • MST/Zoom delivery and eligible itemized cost must be approved.

Availability: Membership and funding-request pathway are posted; no individual award or remaining funds are confirmed.

Where to start

Employer joins the Compact; assigned workforce coordinator reviews the MST quote before enrollment.

Join the Maine Workforce Development Compact ↗
Harold Alfond Center / Maine Community College System workforce team; coordinator follows enrollment.

What to ask

Will the Compact match a California vendor’s live Zoom sales Bootcamp, and which instruction or Academy-access charges qualify?

Provider approval

Supply the coordinator with syllabus, dates, quote and outcomes for vendor review; the employer signs the Compact agreement. Avoid describing the $1,200 match as full tuition.

Individual tuition assistance

The Compact pays through participating employers, not an unemployed applicant’s independent purchase. WIOA through Maine JobLink is separate; MST approval is unverified.

Maine JobLink provides a training-provider account pathway to WIOA approval. California/online licensing and program outcome requirements were not fully audited.

Maryland Poor fit for current Bootcamp

Do not market Maryland Business Works as an available MST funding source now.

Route: Maryland Business Works — currently not accepting applications

The official requirements page explicitly says applications are not being accepted because all budgeted funds have been obligated. That blocks this route regardless of MST's curriculum. A local IWT inquiry could be explored separately, but no current MST-ready alternative award was verified.

Evidence: Published restriction or program limitation that affects current Bootcamp.

Conditions to resolve

  • Maryland Business Works must reopen before a new application can proceed.
  • Any reopened program must approve the employer, vendor and curriculum.
  • For an alternative local IWT route, obtain a new written eligibility and funds determination.

Availability: Explicitly closed to new applications on the checked page; no reopening date stated.

Where to start

Ask Maryland Labor about reopening and a referral to the employer's local board for any currently funded IWT alternative.

Maryland Business Works / DWDAL ↗
410-767-2173; Division of Workforce Development and Adult Learning

What to ask

Is a local IWT alternative currently accepting employer proposals for live online sales training, given that Maryland Business Works is closed to new applications?

Provider approval

Do not spend on a Business Works application while closed. For individual tuition, establish home-state approval and apply for Maryland ETPL consideration; for local IWT, seek the board's separate vendor approval.

Individual tuition assistance

The Business Works closure does not close individual WIOA. MST still needs the relevant provider/course approval; Maryland's policy allows online learning but imposes approval requirements on out-of-state providers.

Maryland's FAQ says out-of-state schools may be considered if WIOA-approved where physically located. Policy 2023-03 permits online/hybrid programs and explains separate reciprocity/listing processes. MST's approval is unverified.

Massachusetts Possible — conditions to resolve

Review the full course: a 24-live / 48-total plan is below 70% live.

Route: Workforce Training Fund Express Program

Express requires at least 70% synchronous instructor-led instruction. If all 24 homework/online hours are included with 24 live hours, the live share is 50%. Ask how Express treats required homework and whether a separately defined live instructional course can qualify. Approval of the actual course and price is still required.

Evidence: Published 70% live rule and historical sales-training evidence; the current blended course requires specific review.

Conditions to resolve

  • Employer has no more than 100 Massachusetts W-2 employees and contributes to the Workforce Training Fund.
  • MST and the exact qualifying course enter the Express directory; employer applies at least 21 days before start.
  • Current caps: $3,000/person/course, $300/instructional hour and $15,000/employer/year.
  • Confirm per-person versus group pricing; hourly cap works differently for group-priced courses.

Availability: Current rules effective April 1, 2026 are posted; course approval and each award remain pending.

Where to start

Send Express the complete live/non-live curriculum before registering the course; resolve how homework and online access affect its 70% live requirement.

Express provider registration and support ↗
express@commcorp.org

What to ask

How do you classify 24 live Zoom hours plus 24 hours of homework/online coursework for the 70% live rule? Can a genuine separately defined live course qualify, and how do your pricing caps apply?

Provider approval

Document the full learning workload and instruction-only price. Do not conceal required non-live work or merely relabel it. Get Express approval of the exact course structure, then complete provider/course registration.

Individual tuition assistance

Express is employer reimbursement. An individual needs separate MassHire ITA approval and MST/course ETPL approval; neither follows automatically from Express registration.

Individual-tuition ETPL uses TrainingPro, distinct from Express. Out-of-state online providers must register with Massachusetts; home-state listing is insufficient. Provider and local course reviews, licensing information and recent performance data apply.

Michigan Poor fit for current Bootcamp

Generic Bootcamp sales content conflicts with current exclusions.

Route: Going PRO Talent Fund

FY26 guidance excludes sales, negotiation, telephone skills, customer service and coaching as soft skills. Technical sales acceleration involving research, buying signals, data and platforms may qualify. Live instructor-led online delivery is allowed, so curriculum is the central obstacle.

Evidence: Published restriction or program limitation that affects current Bootcamp.

Conditions to resolve

  • Only genuinely qualifying technical curriculum; generic sales modules remain excluded.
  • Training must lead to a transferable skill credential accepted by Michigan Works.
  • Eligible permanent full-time employees and an approved employer training plan.

Availability: Current program page says the next opening is expected early 2027; dates and funding are not confirmed.

Where to start

Individual tuition assistance

Going PRO is employer-led. Individual MiTC/WIOA tuition remains a separate, unverified MST/provider/course approval question.

Minnesota Partner route — arrange first

An accredited Minnesota institution must lead the project.

Route: Minnesota Job Skills Partnership — Partnership Program

The state awards grants to accredited Minnesota educational institutions partnered with employers. It supports custom instruction and curriculum development, but excludes tuition reimbursement. Buying standard MST seats directly is not the published model.

Evidence: Published program rules; sales-course fit is an assessment, not an approval.

Conditions to resolve

  • Accredited Minnesota institution agrees to sponsor and deliver the employer project.
  • Business provides at least a one-to-one cash/in-kind match.
  • DEED approves MST’s role, curriculum and subcontract costs.

Availability: Applications accepted year-round with board review rounds; available funds and project acceptance are unconfirmed.

Where to start

Contact MJSP with a potential employer and ask for an institutional partner willing to incorporate MST instruction.

MJSP program office ↗
deed.mjsp@state.mn.us; 651-259-7514.

What to ask

Could an accredited Minnesota partner contract with MST for live sales instruction within a custom employer project, rather than reimbursing ordinary tuition?

Provider approval

Pursue a legitimate institutional teaching/vendor partnership. Grant goes to the institution; do not present MST as a standalone eligible grant applicant.

Individual tuition assistance

Direct individual Bootcamp tuition is unverified. Minnesota ETPL generally requires a Minnesota physical location or Minnesota headquarters for online providers; California-only MST does not appear to meet that listing gate.

DEED requires appropriate state licensing/registration/exemption and a Minnesota location; online-only eligibility requires Minnesota headquarters and recognized postsecondary credentials. Ask etpl.deed@state.mn.us about any permitted external-provider route.

Mississippi Partner route — arrange first

A college-backed employer project is more realistic than direct consumer reimbursement.

Route: Workforce Enhancement Training Fund through a community-college workforce partner

WET supports vendor training aligned with priority industries and occupations. Its published process uses community-college workforce partners. Sales revenue can be a project outcome, but that does not prove a general sales bootcamp is an eligible occupation or curriculum.

Evidence: Published program rules; sales-course fit is an assessment, not an approval.

Conditions to resolve

  • A Mississippi employer's project must align with WET priorities.
  • The college/AccelerateMS must approve MST's vendor role, curriculum and live online delivery.
  • Agree on measurable worker/productivity outcomes, eligible costs and reporting before training.

Availability: WET remains described on the current program page; current guidelines, local allocations and award availability need confirmation. The site's ARPA closure notice is a separate program.

Where to start

What to ask

Can WET support an employer's sales team through an approved college project using MST's California-based live Zoom instruction, and is this role within your priority occupations?

Provider approval

Start with college/vendor approval for WET. Do not assume WIOA ETPL registration substitutes for the college's procurement and training-plan approval.

Individual tuition assistance

An individual's MST tuition is not established by WET. A WIN Job Center must separately assess WIOA eligibility and exact course approval.

  • Local board confirms an active IWT allocation and qualifying worker/training terms.

Provider approval

Request the local board's IWT vendor/contract process; ordinary individual ETPL rules are not automatically the IWT gate. Do not apply to the former WTP using archived instructions.

Individual tuition assistance

A personal Bootcamp purchase is not WorkInvestNH’s employer route. Individual WIOA eligibility and a suitable approved training program remain unverified.

What to ask

Does base-plus-commission count as excluded commission-based employment, and can an approved NJ provider subcontract MST’s live instruction?

Provider approval

FY27 UPSKILL expressly exempts its third-party trainers from ETPL, but still requires NJ physical location. Do not use older blanket ETPL statements to override the current grant notice.

Individual tuition assistance

UPSKILL restrictions do not decide all individual tuition. An individual needs counselor approval and an approved course; MST’s NJ ETPL status is unverified.

For individual-tuition approval, NJ evaluates out-of-state private career schools and has a separate ETPL process. Obtain training-evaluation/licensing and program guidance; an employer-grant ETPL exemption is not an individual-tuition exemption.

New Mexico Possible — conditions to resolve

Step Up is plausible for manufacturing or export-service employers.

Route: Step Up Program

Step Up pays for current-worker skills, tuition and outside instructors. A sales curriculum could fit its workplace-skills purpose, but there is no specific MST approval. The employer gate is decisive: manufacturing or a business-service firm earning over half its revenue from out-of-state customers.

Evidence: Published program rules; sales-course fit is an assessment, not an approval.

Conditions to resolve

  • Employer has operated in New Mexico at least one year.
  • Employer gives a reasonable wage increase or makes qualifying investment/production changes.
  • Agency approves the sales curriculum, external instructor and remote delivery before commitment.

Availability: Step Up program and eligibility questionnaire are published; current award capacity was not confirmed.

Where to start

Complete the Step Up employer eligibility questionnaire linked on the program page and send the Bootcamp outline to JTIP staff.

Patrick Gannon; Patrick.Gannon@edd.nm.gov; 505-470-3572

What to ask

Can Step Up reimburse MST's live Zoom sales course for this qualifying employer, and does its sales staff/curriculum face any additional limits?

Provider approval

Supply an employer-specific syllabus, instructor credentials, quote and completion records for Step Up approval. Ask which private/out-of-state trainer contracting requirements apply; do not start with an unrelated ETPL application.

Individual tuition assistance

Step Up/JTIP require an employer. JTIP explicitly permits limited sales positions among new jobs, but that does not automatically pay an individual's MST tuition; WIOA program approval remains separate.

New York Promising — approval needed

Explicit sales precedent; enough eligible seats and wage gains are essential.

Route: New York City Customized Training Grant (NYC employers only)

NYC documents sales training grants, allows online classes and outside vendors not in its directory. Awards start at $10,000. At published Bootcamp prices, eight seats cost $18,000 and yield $10,800 at 60%; five or seven seats fall below the minimum. Calculations assume every tuition dollar is eligible.

Evidence: An explicit published rule supports a relevant sales topic, occupation or training feature; MST approval remains unverified.

Conditions to resolve

  • NYC for-profit employer operating over one year; at least five trainees.
  • 60% reimbursement for up to 100 employees; 50% for larger employers.
  • Eligible trainees earn below $98,253/year, are paid during training and receive planned wage increases.
  • Contract before spending; sufficient eligible project cost to reach $10,000 award.

Availability: Posted next pre-application deadline October 30, 2026, then January 5, 2027. Competitive award; no remaining allocation or approval is promised.

Where to start

Send SBS a pre-application for an eight-plus-person small-employer cohort, with itemized tuition and proposed wage gains.

What to ask

Would MST’s live California-delivered cohort qualify, and do our instructional costs and wage plan support a grant above the $10,000 minimum?

Provider approval

Provide curriculum, instructor credentials, references if requested, itemized quote and online attendance/completion proof. SBS guide does not require an outside vendor to join the directory for this employer grant.

Individual tuition assistance

NYC Individual Training Grants use a selective approved-course/occupation process. No individual MST Bootcamp approval is verified. Outside NYC, ask the local New York career center about its distinct funding rules.

For NYC individual ITGs, separate ETPL/course approval and licensing evidence are required; contact nycetpl@sbs.nyc.gov. Employer Customized Training’s vendor flexibility does not establish ITG eligibility.

North Carolina Possible — conditions to resolve

Live online delivery is allowed; the employer must justify sales upskilling.

Route: NCWorks local Incumbent Worker Training

The 2025 guidance explicitly allows web-based training and registration costs. MST's Zoom format is therefore plausible, but the board must approve its occupational relevance and California vendor status; there is no verified sales-specific approval.

Evidence: Published program rules; sales-course fit is an assessment, not an approval.

Conditions to resolve

  • The employer normally needs 12 months operating in North Carolina and must meet local criteria.
  • Trainees work at a North Carolina facility and generally have six months' tenure; 1099 workers are excluded.
  • Training must support skill advancement, retention or layoff prevention; employer cost sharing applies.
  • Obtain an agreement before costs or training begin.

Availability: State IWT page was updated March 2026; local deadlines, caps and funding balances differ and were not confirmed.

Where to start

Use the state-linked local-board directory to ask the employer's Business Services Representative for a curriculum and vendor review.

What to ask

Will your board approve this 24-hour live Zoom sales course as new occupational skills, using a California private trainer, and what advancement or retention evidence is required?

Provider approval

For employer IWT, seek local vendor/course approval and document online attendance and outcomes. Pursue individual ETPL listing separately if that market is desired.

Individual tuition assistance

Individual MST tuition remains unverified and requires the local counselor's participant and exact ETPL program approval.

North Dakota Possible — conditions to resolve

Technical Skills Track B is a narrow lead for technical/scientific sales teams.

Route: Technical Skills Training Grant — Track B

Track B supports employer upskilling, and the linked in-demand list specifically includes wholesale/manufacturing sales representatives for technical and scientific products. That supports an occupation case, not automatic approval of generic sales curriculum. Training must occur in North Dakota, leaving California-led Zoom interpretation to Commerce.

Evidence: An explicit published rule supports a relevant sales topic, occupation or training feature; MST approval remains unverified.

Conditions to resolve

  • North Dakota applicant in good standing; majority of trainees reside and intend to work in-state.
  • Real job duties match an eligible in-demand occupation.
  • Dollar-for-dollar match and an approved upskilling project; confirm remote location rule.

Availability: Online application period is advertised open; guidance updated August 4, 2026. Funds are not reserved until award.

Where to start

Send Evan Moser the actual sales job description, proposed SOC occupation, Bootcamp outline and North Dakota attendance location for a Track B pre-screen.

What to ask

Does this technical-product sales role qualify under Track B, and does attending MST's California-led live Zoom course from North Dakota satisfy the in-state training requirement?

Provider approval

The North Dakota employer should apply under Track B; MST supplies course and vendor documentation. Confirm whether additional provider approval is needed rather than assuming ETPL is the Track B gate.

Individual tuition assistance

The technical-sales occupation entry is not marked as a WIOA-approved program in the linked list. A Job Service advisor must separately verify occupation, specific program and funding eligibility for individual tuition.

Ohio Possible — conditions to resolve

A credible employer route, with local approval of workers, course and trainer.

Route: Local OhioMeansJobs Incumbent Worker Training

Ohio local IWT policies allow review of private training companies and online instruction. Sales Bootcamp is a reasonable candidate where its skills support retention or advancement, but no statewide sales-course approval is established. The employer’s local OhioMeansJobs office must approve the specific project.

Evidence: Published Ohio local policies support private/online training and define tenure and training-plan requirements. No MST award, statewide sales approval or acceptance of all 48 hours has been verified.

Conditions to resolve

  • Identify the employer’s county, exact funding program and contract route; local rules and available funds differ.
  • Workers generally need six months with the employer when training starts. A qualifying employer cohort may have an exception when a majority meets the tenure rule; obtain the local office’s determination.
  • Submit course dates, 24 live hours plus separately itemized homework/online coursework, required attendance, any makeup method and measurable passing criteria. Ask which hours and formats qualify.
  • Get employer, provider, course, cost share and payment arrangements approved before training or spending. A completion certificate does not itself establish eligibility.

Availability: Local program information is posted; the employer’s county funding balance and intake are unknown.

Where to start

Ask the employer’s local OhioMeansJobs business-services team to pre-screen an IWT application. Allen County is one contact example, not the confirmed office for any MST customer.

OhioMeansJobs Allen County IWT ↗
Trent.Wise@jfs.ohio.gov; 419-999-0360. Other counties have their own staff and rules.

What to ask

Can your IWT program approve this Sales Bootcamp: 24 live Zoom hours plus 24 homework/online hours, required participation, live certifications and completed online coursework? Which hours and recorded makeups count, what tenure rule applies, and is your purchase through an employer contract or an ITA requiring WIET listing?

Provider approval

Supply a dated syllabus and itemized quote; separate live instruction, assignments and recorded content. Document attendance and approved makeups, a clear pass rubric, completion records and sample certificate. Confirm vendor approval and whether the agency buys through an employer contract or ITA.

Individual tuition assistance

The OhioMeansJobs funding page is a starting point, not course approval. Individual WIOA tuition normally needs WIET-approved provider/course and counselor authorization; MST status is unverified.

WIET is Ohio’s eligible-provider/program system. Employer IWT contracts can use a separate provider/procurement review, but Ohio local policy also permits IWT through an ITA, which requires eligible-provider listing and individual eligibility. Ask which payment route applies before concluding that WIET registration is unnecessary. MST’s exact listing and outside-state/online requirements remain unverified.

Oklahoma Possible — conditions to resolve

Private virtual training can fit; occupation and wage outcomes are decisive.

Route: Oklahoma local/state Incumbent Worker Training

The February 2025 directive explicitly recognizes virtual delivery and approves IWT providers separately from ETPL. MST must demonstrate employer-specific expertise, measured skills and outcomes. A generic sales-development pitch is weaker than a plan tied to an in-demand occupation and higher pay.

Evidence: Published program rules; sales-course fit is an assessment, not an approval.

Conditions to resolve

  • The board must accept the occupation as in demand and the employer's retention/upskilling case.
  • Employees normally need six months' tenure, with a majority-cohort exception.
  • The directive specifies higher post-training wages; confirm the required wage commitment.
  • Employer contribution and written approval are required before training.

Availability: Current directive establishes a process, not an open award guarantee; local/state funding balances are unverified.

Where to start

Take the employer and MST proposal to the local board; request OESC review if local funds are insufficient.

WorkforceServices.Inquiry@oesc.ok.gov; applications are coordinated through the local workforce board

What to ask

Does this sales occupation qualify locally, and can MST's live virtual course satisfy the skill-gain and post-training wage requirements using your alternative provider-approval process?

Provider approval

Use the directive's alternative IWT provider review: experience, employer partnership, objectives, delivery plan, reporting and monitoring. ETPL is expressly not required for this route.

Individual tuition assistance

IWT approval would not establish an individual tuition voucher. MST's exact course still needs separate individual training authorization and applicable ETPL approval.

Oregon Possible — conditions to resolve

Possible local IWT contract; no statewide sales approval found.

Route: Local Workforce Board Incumbent Worker Training

Oregon's IWT policy permits employer-specific training to retain workers or avoid layoffs, with local boards deciding eligibility. A 12-week sales-skills cohort could be proposed, but the statewide rule does not establish sales, outside-trainer or Zoom acceptance. Portland's current public initiatives emphasize other sectors.

Evidence: Published program rules; sales-course fit is an assessment, not an approval.

Conditions to resolve

  • Local board is offering IWT for the employer's location and occupation.
  • Employees generally have six months' tenure, with a majority-of-cohort exception.
  • Employer documents retention need and contributes the required share; obtain course/vendor approval first.

Availability: State policy authorizes local IWT. No open Portland sales-training allocation was verified.

Where to start

Provider approval

Seek local IWT procurement/vendor approval with the employer. IWT is a contract exception to ordinary individual ETPL requirements; the local board must confirm its process.

Individual tuition assistance

Individual tuition requires an approved program and counselor authorization. MST approval was not verified; published reciprocity does not itself include California.

Pennsylvania Possible — conditions to resolve

Employer sector is the first filter; an ordinary dealer may not qualify.

Route: WEDnetPA employer training reimbursement

FY26–27 WEDnetPA focuses on five industries and predominantly industrial/B2B firms. Eligible employees may hold any job title, but retail businesses and firms outside the sectors are excluded. Sales staff at a qualifying manufacturer may be stronger candidates than a general dealer.

Evidence: Published program rules; sales-course fit is an assessment, not an approval.

Conditions to resolve

  • Employer NAICS fits manufacturing, life sciences, agriculture, energy, or robotics/technology.
  • PA resident permanent full-time employee, healthcare-benefit eligibility and at least $17.31/hour.
  • Partner approves course and reasonable costs; maximum $2,000/person.

Individual tuition assistance

WEDnetPA is employer reimbursement, not individual tuition. Separate PA CareerLink WIOA/course approval is needed; MST ETPL eligibility is not established.

Rhode Island Promising — approval needed

Good employer route for a structured sales course; MST still needs approval.

Route: Governor’s Workforce Board Incumbent Worker Training Grant

Rhode Island has historical funded sales training and current IWT supports skills for new markets, advancement and competitiveness. The 2026 guide allows US training providers; California is not categorically excluded. Documented live training is a more defensible fit than open-ended coaching.

Evidence: Official past sales-training example; current MST course approval remains unverified.

Conditions to resolve

  • Rhode Island employer meets tax/registration rules and uses eligible employees, not 1099 contractors.
  • Apply at least three weeks before training and receive approval.
  • Up to 75% reimbursement for employers under 25 workers; 50% for larger employers.
  • Caps include $5,000/trainee/year and $25,000/employer/year.

Availability: Rolling application process is posted; award capacity and this course’s approval remain unconfirmed.

South Carolina Promising — approval needed

One of the stronger employer leads: sales precedent plus explicit outside-provider and remote-delivery rules.

Route: SC Works local/statewide Incumbent Worker Training

The current September 2025 instruction allows external training organizations and online delivery. The state's PY2024 report documents sales/marketing training under Rapid Response IWT. That is useful precedent, but Rapid Response requires genuine layoff risk; ordinary employers should ask about local/statewide IWT.

Evidence: Official past sales-training example; current MST course approval remains unverified.

Conditions to resolve

  • Employer needs at least one full-time employee other than its owner and an active SCWOS account.
  • Eligible employees generally need six months' tenure; 1099 contractors are excluded.
  • Local/statewide IWT requires an employer share; specific funding and sector priorities vary.
  • MST and the curriculum must be approved before training; layoff-aversion funds require a documented qualifying risk.

Availability: Active September 2025 policy; local/statewide awards are competitive and remaining funds are unverified.

Where to start

What to ask

Provider approval

Apply as an external IWT vendor through the employer's project; provide credentials, agenda and attendance/outcome evidence. Keep the individual ETPL application separate.

South Dakota Promising — approval needed

Strong occupation fit for employer IWT covering wholesale/manufacturing sales.

Route: Incumbent Worker Training

July-2026 IWT rules require a Hot Careers occupation. The current list explicitly includes wholesale/manufacturing nontechnical sales representatives, insurance sales and nonretail sales supervisors. IWT uses third-party trainers and exempts ETPL, giving MST a credible route; its curriculum and remote delivery still need approval.

Evidence: An explicit published rule supports a relevant sales topic, occupation or training feature; MST approval remains unverified.

Conditions to resolve

  • South Dakota employer operating at least one year; permanent employees working 32+ hours, generally six months' tenure.
  • Current or destination job is on Hot Careers; employee remains employed and receives a wage increase.
  • Apply 30–180 days before training; employer pays 10%, 25% or 50% by size.

Availability: Current policy permits up to $20,000 per business/program year, first come subject to federal allocation; remaining funds not verified.

What to ask

For SOC 41-4012 sales employees on Hot Careers, will you approve MST's California-led Zoom Bootcamp and its completion certificate under IWT?

Provider approval

IWT explicitly exempts ETPL and requires a third-party trainer. Supply itemized invoice and completion certificates; have DLR confirm out-of-state vendor/Zoom rules before contract.

Individual tuition assistance

The sales occupation listing helps establish demand, but it does not approve MST for an individual's ITA. Individual program and participant review remain necessary.

Tennessee Possible — conditions to resolve

Potential employer route; California-delivered Zoom needs a specific location ruling.

Route: Local Incumbent Worker Training

Tennessee supports employer skill upgrades, but the published FAQ says funded training activities take place only in Tennessee. It does not resolve a Tennessee employee attending live Zoom with a California instructor. That must be answered before treating MST as eligible.

Evidence: Published program rules; sales-course fit is an assessment, not an approval.

Conditions to resolve

  • Published criteria require at least one year in operation and five full-time employees; confirm current local rules.
  • Employees must work at a Tennessee facility, and the employer must document its skill gap.
  • Obtain local acceptance of remote delivery and the training vendor.
  • Apply before training and satisfy employer contribution and reporting requirements.

Availability: State and local sites describe IWT, but the FAQ contains older program-year examples; confirm current terms and available local funds.

Provider approval

Seek employer-contract vendor/course approval before pursuing this sale. Individual ETPL approval is a separate route and does not settle IWT's delivery-location rule.

Individual tuition assistance

Texas Partner route — arrange first

Sales/marketing is explicitly supported; MST needs a qualifying college offering or partnership.

Route: Skills for Small Business through a Texas public college

TWC's March 2025 newsletter lists Sales/Marketing among common funded courses. Skills for Small Business buys courses from public community/technical college catalogs, including online courses. MST's standalone invoice is therefore not the verified route; a college must agree to offer or incorporate its training.

Evidence: An explicit published rule supports a relevant sales topic, occupation or training feature; MST approval remains unverified.

Conditions to resolve

  • Employer generally has fewer than 100 employees; trainees must meet full-time and wage requirements.
  • The course must be an eligible public-college offering and approved before enrollment.
  • Confirm current per-person caps and the college's terms for contracting with MST.
  • For a larger custom project, ask about Skills Development Fund eligibility.

Availability: TWC describes the program and sales/marketing examples; available funds, current caps and a college partnership are not confirmed.

Where to start

Provider approval

Build a public-college partnership first; ETPL listing alone does not make MST a Skills for Small Business vendor. Obtain the college's procurement and delivery approval.

Individual tuition assistance

Skills for Small Business is employer-led. Individual MST WIOA tuition remains unverified; California-only providers also face Texas's separate out-of-state approval process.

Utah Promising — approval needed

Custom Fit is a strong employer-first lead for live sales training.

Route: Custom Fit — regional college employer training

Utah colleges fund tailored employee training, and UBTech expressly permits online and out-of-state training. Bridgerland offers business-growth training aimed at increasing sales. These support a credible proposal, although neither establishes MST approval. Salt Lake County's program can reduce eligible costs by up to 40%.

Evidence: Published program rules; sales-course fit is an assessment, not an approval.

Conditions to resolve

  • For SLCC: Utah-licensed for-profit employer in Salt Lake County with current W2/W4 employees.
  • Regional Custom Fit office approves the proposed course, trainer and budget.
  • Training agreement is arranged before delivery; employer pays the remaining share.

Availability: SLCC publishes request forms and an approval workflow; available dollars and award percentage require regional confirmation.

Provider approval

Work through the regional Custom Fit college for course/vendor approval and agreement. Custom Fit is separate from the individual ETPL route.

Individual tuition assistance

Custom Fit is not a personal scholarship. Individual DWS tuition is harder until MST and the program obtain applicable ETPL approval.

An out-of-state provider without a Utah location must be on its home-state ETPL. Utah also requires two years' operation, school registration/exemption, direct training, program outcomes and annual renewal. Online curricula need returned lessons, instructor interaction and periodic tests.

Evidence: Published program rules; sales-course fit is an assessment, not an approval.

Conditions to resolve

  • Eligible Vermont employees meet current wage and benefit requirements.
  • Agency accepts skills curriculum and vendor, excluding consulting/coaching.
  • Approval before training; employer pays the unfunded share.

  • Licensed Washington educational institution sponsors the project and contracts with MST.
  • Employer generally provides dollar-for-dollar match; small-business exceptions require review.
  • For substantial subcontracting, explain benefit to the college or wider industry.

Route: WorkForce West Virginia local Incumbent Worker Training

WorkForce WV offers employer IWT through local boards, making it a plausible first inquiry for existing sales staff. The separate Governor's Guaranteed Work Force Program targets new/expanding firms; its current incentives page requires ten net new jobs in twelve months. Prior customer reimbursements do not establish which route or approval applied.

Evidence: Published program rules; sales-course fit is an assessment, not an approval.

Conditions to resolve

  • A local board must accept the employer, employees and occupational sales curriculum.
  • Confirm acceptance of MST as a California live-online provider and the local employer share.
  • If considering GGWFP, verify the ten-net-new-jobs requirement and its other company conditions.
  • Get written approval before booking or paying for training.

Availability: Both routes are described on current official pages. No remaining allocation or MST award was verified.

Where to start

Ask the employer's local workforce board to identify the applicable IWT route; ask past customers for their award paperwork to identify the original program.

What to ask

Can local IWT fund this employer's existing sales team using MST live on Zoom, and did prior sales-training reimbursements come through IWT, GGWFP or another program?

Provider approval

Use local IWT vendor/course approval first. GGWFP approval is a separate employer-project process; individual ETPL listing is separate from both.

Individual tuition assistance

MST individual tuition is unverified, not ruled out. A local AJC must confirm the person's eligibility and the exact approved course/provider.

State training database and AJC entry verified. MST listing and California/Zoom provider application gates were not fully audited.

Wisconsin Possible — conditions to resolve

Sales has funding precedent, but the latest Fast Forward round is closed.

Route: Wisconsin Fast Forward; local IWT as an immediate alternative inquiry

DWD previously funded sales-skills training through Fast Forward. Current guidance supports customized occupational training across industries. This is evidence of category fit, not an MST approval. Local WIOA IWT is a separate route with local contracting and employer/worker eligibility.

Evidence: Official past sales-training example; current MST course approval remains unverified.

Conditions to resolve

  • A future Fast Forward round or available local IWT allocation.
  • Employer demonstrates advancement, wage or job outcomes and provides required match.
  • Agency approves MST’s curriculum, California vendor and live delivery.

Availability: Latest standard Fast Forward deadline was October 5, 2026, now passed. Next round and local IWT funds are unconfirmed.

Where to start

Ask DWD about the next Fast Forward round and a local IWT referral; submit a cohort-level training concept.

WisconsinFastForward@dwd.wisconsin.gov.

What to ask

Would this live sales cohort resemble your funded sales-skills projects, and can local IWT support it while the Fast Forward round is closed?

Provider approval

Employer identifies MST and a documented occupational training project. Wisconsin WIOA IWT/customized-training providers are exempt from ETPL, but still require local contract and compliance review.

Individual tuition assistance

Employer grants do not give individuals a Bootcamp voucher. Individual ETPL/course approval and career-planner authorization remain unverified for MST.

Separate individual ETPL rules allow online/blended occupational instruction and require direct-provider, business, performance and registration review. Ask DETETPL@dwd.wisconsin.gov about California licensing, FEIN, UEI/SAM and program eligibility.

Wyoming Promising — approval needed

Business Training Grants are a practical first screen for Sales Bootcamp.

Route: Business Training Grants

Wyoming explicitly permits online training and accepts active payroll employees who have already started work, including recent hires. Job-related skill improvement and performance gains fit Bootcamp's purpose. Sales is not expressly listed as approved, so curriculum and California trainer acceptance still require review.

Evidence: Published program rules; sales-course fit is an assessment, not an approval.

Conditions to resolve

  • Wyoming business with physical address, good standing and active payroll trainees.
  • Training addresses a job-related skill gap and does not replace an existing training budget.
  • Submit 30–110 days before training; fully executed agreement before start.

Availability: Applications may be submitted through the current portal; competitive awards and remaining funds are not guaranteed.

Where to start

Email WDTF for a Bootcamp curriculum screen, then have the employer register in the Business Training Grants system.

dws-wdtf@wyo.gov; 307-777-8534

What to ask

Will you fund this job-specific live sales course delivered from California to Wyoming employees, and what trainer approval and attendance evidence are required?

Provider approval

Provide syllabus, dates, quote and online attendance/completion documentation for the employer's application. Ask WDTF whether any separate vendor approval is needed; do not assume individual ETPL rules govern this grant.

Individual tuition assistance

Business Training Grants reimburse employers. Individual WIOA tuition needs a separate approved-program route, and MST's out-of-state status is unresolved.

Published direct application is for Wyoming-based providers; reciprocity links are Montana and Utah. Ask dws-etpl-inquiries@wyo.gov how California-based MST could qualify before preparing an individual-funding application.
